Uniform and Equipment Requirements

Each soldier provides his own uniform and equipment.  The following is a list of those items each soldier is expected to have.
 
NOTE:  These guidelines do not contain specific model or pattern designations for the most part. 

1 Tarte (beret) with jonquille hunting horn insignia.
1 M1915 Adrian helmet with hunting horn badge or helmet cover.
1 HB (Horizon Blue) single or double breasted overcoat with hunting horn buttons  AND/OR
1 Deep navy blue Tunic w/ hunting horn buttons.
1 pair of collar insignia, piped in green.
1 fouragerre in croix de guerre (red + green) colors.
1 pair trousers, navy blue, wool w/ yellow piping.
1 pair puttees, navy blue, wool.
1 pair ankle boots, brown or black, no toe cap.
1 cotton shirt, white or striped, collarless.
1 cravat, navy blue, cotton.
1 pair of suspenders, natural color.
 
1 set of leather gear consisting of :  1 waistbelt, 1 Y straps, 3 ammunition pouches, 1 bayonet frog.
1 bayonet, quillion preferred, alloy handle preferred.
1 rifle, 1886 Lebel, 1907/15 Berthier, 1916 Berthier.
1 breadbag, tan to brown in color.  Green was postwar issue.
1 M2 gas mask w/ bag.
1  2 liter or 1 liter canteen covered with dark blue wool.
1 squad E tool.
1 Mess kit, round with lid.
1 cup.
1 fork and spoon.
 
 
 
Optional Equipment
1 M1893 Pack set up with blanket, shelter half, straps, mess kit, tent poles, tent stakes.
